AboutMonmousseau
Maison Monmousseau began in 1886, when Alcide Monmousseau founded a fine-wine merchant house in Montrichard on the Cher. Its cellars occupy a former tuffeau quarry beneath the town, with some 15 kilometres of tunnels kept naturally near 12°C.
Alcide’s nephew and successor, Justin-Marcel, developed the house’s traditional-method sparkling wines. The range also includes still Loire wines, made from grapes such as Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Côt.

Cabernet Franc makes up seventy percent of the blend, with Grolleau accounting for the remainder. The grapes are pressed immediately after harvest, using only the first pressing, then fermented without skins at low temperature. Pale pink with a salmon tint, the wine carries floral and strawberry aromas with raspberry and cherry blossom undertones. The finish is fresh and off-dry.
