AboutMonastero Suore Cistercensi
The Cistercian community behind these wines traces its Italian foundation to 1875, with moves through Grottaferrata before settling at Vitorchiano in 1957. The sisters have farmed roughly five hectares of vines around Vitorchiano organically since the early 1990s, in the volcanic country of northern Lazio.
Alongside the vines, they tend orchards and gardens as part of the monastery’s daily work. Giampiero Bea began advising their winemaking in the early 2000s. The cellar uses old tanks, fibreglass vessels and glass demijohns.

Italian Red
Pale and translucent in the glass, this gentle red favours clarity over weight. Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo bring fresh red-fruit character, while a two-week maceration adds light grip without sacrificing delicacy. Natural fermentation and restrained cellar work preserve an unadorned, quietly savoury profile. The result remains clear and composed, with fresh fruit continuing through a clean, understated finish that suits the wine's light touch.
