AboutMidleton Distillery

Old Midleton Distillery opened in County Cork in 1825. In 1966, Cork Distilleries Company joined John Jameson & Son and John Power & Son to form Irish Distillers. A new distillery opened beside the old site in 1975, taking over production of Jameson and Powers as distilling at the original Midleton plant ended.

Midleton Very Rare began in 1984, when Master Distiller Barry Crockett drew together selected pot-still and grain whiskeys for an annual vintage release. Brian Nation and then Kevin O’Gorman succeeded Crockett in selecting these annual blends.
