Château Méjean
AboutChâteau Méjean
Château Méjean is a compact Graves estate at Ayguemorte-les-Graves, where roughly seven hectares of vines sit near the Garonne. Brothers Ludovic and Damien Martial took over its operation in 2018. Merlot occupies four fifths of the red-wine vineyard and Cabernet Sauvignon the balance, rooted in siliceous gravel and clay.
The Martial brothers eliminated herbicides, work the soil mechanically and encourage greater ecological diversity among the vines. Indigenous yeasts have been used since 2021.
Château Méjean 2019 Graves
French Red
A structured Graves with blackberry and cassis, joined by sweet spice, hazelnut and a lightly earthy bark note. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, with succulent dark fruit framed by firm, polished tannins. Flavourful and composed on the finish, it is a natural partner for grilled beef, roast lamb, mushrooms or aged hard cheese.
