AboutMas des Caprices

Mas des Caprices grew out of a return to wine by Mireille and Pierre Mann, children of Alsatian winegrowers who first built their working life in restaurants. They settled at Leucate in 2005, spent several years converting the vineyards, and made the estate’s first wines in 2009. Their vines stretch across the limestone plateau by the Mediterranean and into the schist foothills of the Corbières, giving the domaine two sharply contrasting landscapes.

The estate is a Biodyvin member and holds organic and biodynamic certification. The range includes Vin de France, Corbières, Fitou and Rivesaltes.

Mas des Caprices 2018 Le Blanc de l’Oeuf Corbières Blanc

French White
$34.99
Fresh white fruit, chopped herbs and a dry saline finish define a rounded yet fresh profile. Carignan Blanc, Macabeu and Grenache Blanc make up the blend. The wine is raised in an egg-shaped cement vessel, contributing breadth and suppleness. The biodynamically farmed estate works sixteen hectares across the limestone plateau of Leucate and the schist foothills of Corbières.

Mas des Caprices 2018 RAS Rouge à Siroter Vin de France

French Red
$36.99
Clear ruby in colour, with crunchy cherry, red currant and a light touch of sweet spice. The palate is bright and easy-moving, balancing juicy Mediterranean fruit with silky tannins and a refreshing finish. Light enough for an aperitif yet savoury enough for the table, it suits charcuterie, grilled sausages or a sunny picnic.
