AboutMarisco Vineyards
Marisco Family Vineyards is owned and operated by the Marris family in Marlborough. Founder Brent Marris grew up among Marlborough’s early vineyards and trained as a winemaker in South Australia. He found a site on the Waihopai River in 2003 and used its fruit to launch The Ned in 2006.
The family bought Leefield Station in 2013, developing vineyards alongside a working farm and preserved native bush. Brent’s daughters are involved in production and marketing.
Marisco 2024 The Ned Sauvignon Blanc
Gooseberry, citrus peel and white tropical fruit open with a lively herbal lift. The palate is juicy and expressive, combining mango and passion fruit with a clear mineral line and bright acidity. Fresh citrus and white flowers carry the long finish, making this an easy match for goat cheese, green vegetables or simply prepared seafood.
The Ned 2021 Pinot Noir
Wild strawberry, raspberry liquorice, dried oregano and allspice form the aromatic profile. The palate is fleshy and sweet-fruited, with opulent tannins, smoky French oak and a long, juicy finish. The Pinot Noir comes from Marlborough, New Zealand, with the winery rooted in the Waihopai Valley. A Marlborough peak served as a childhood playground for founder Brent Marris.
