Manoir de la Tête Rouge
AboutManoir de la Tête Rouge
Guillaume Reynouard took over Manoir de la Tête Rouge in 1995, working vines around the Puy-Notre-Dame hill in Saumur. Organic farming was a priority from the start; biodynamic work began in 2003, followed by Biodyvin certification in 2010.
The 16 hectares include six principal parcels planted with Cabernet Franc, Chenin, Grolleau Gris and Pineau d’Aunis. The parcels differ in exposure and soils, which include clay, limestone, chalk and alluvial deposits. Guillaume’s son Martin joined in 2024, bringing a particular interest in long-aged sparkling wines.

French Red
Forest-floor, toasted and lightly animal notes accompany a silky, lively palate. The red wine is complex and rich, with present, granular tannins that remain free of astringency, a chalky texture and a long finish. Cabernet Franc grows in clay-limestone soils. Grapes are harvested by hand, and the cuvée is made under organic and biodynamic farming.

French Sparkling
Red apple, pear and citrus zest open with apricot, white flowers and subtle buttery toast. Fine persistent bubbles animate a creamy, gently rounded palate, while fresh acidity keeps the ripe orchard fruit poised. The wine finishes crisp and dry, with a charming balance of savoury depth and easy brightness.
