AboutM. Antonio de la Riva
Winemakers Ramiro Ibáñez and Willy Pérez revived Manuel Antonio de la Riva in Jerez in 2016, bringing back a house with roots in 1776. They work with Palomino from vineyard areas such as Macharnudo, Miraflores and Balbaína, known for their chalky albariza soils.
The range includes unfortified wines and wines aged under flor, the layer of yeast used in biological ageing. The partners draw on old soleras and selected casks as well as wines from recent harvests.
M. Antonio de la Riva Manzanilla Fina Miraflores Baja
Spanish Fortified
Intense aromas of chalk and hydrocarbon notes sit above a saline palate marked by anise and basil. Palomino Fino comes mainly from the Casilla Verde vineyard in Miraflores Baja, around seven kilometres from the Atlantic, with a smaller share from neighbouring sites. The wine averages three to three and a half years under flor in a traditional criaderas-and-solera system.
