AboutLuigi Righetti
Luigi Righetti is a wine estate in Valgatara, in Valpolicella Classica, with family winegrowing roots dating to 1909. Angelo Righetti established the cellar after buying vineyards in the area, and successive generations developed the range.
For its dried-grape wines, selected bunches are laid in small wooden crates before fermentation, a process known as appassimento. The cellar uses large casks and French barriques, while some Corvina-based wines are made without oak.

Baked plum, toasted oak, baking spice, prune, vanilla, mocha, black cherry, milk chocolate, rum raisin and cinnamon appear with smooth tannins and a rich, smooth finish. Corvina makes up eighty percent of the blend, with ten percent Rondinella and ten percent Molinara. The wine contains fifteen percent alcohol and receives oak maturation. The full-bodied style is dry.

Bright red cherry leads a fresh, fruit-driven nose. The palate is light and easy in shape, with gentle tannins and balanced acidity keeping the fruit lively. A subtle bitter-almond note appears on the clean finish, giving this stainless-steel-fermented expression a savoury edge and an especially refreshing feel.
