Longwood’s production brewery opened on Boxwood Road in Nanaimo in 2012, making packaged and kegged beer for British Columbia. The brewery also has a tasting room and seasonal patio.
Most barley and hops come from British Columbia, including grain grown and malted on Vancouver Island and hops sourced from farms around the province. The range includes lagers, fruit ales, wheat beers and imperial stouts.

Pale straw in colour, with ripe fruit, soft baking spice and a broad malty core. Wheat keeps the texture smooth and rounded, while Pilsner and Vienna malts add gentle bread and cereal depth. The finish stays refreshing despite the richer winter profile, carrying fruit and spice without becoming heavy. Serve cool with roast pork, grilled sausages, mushroom dishes or nutty alpine cheese; it also suits a simple roast chicken.
