AboutLeza García

The Leza García family farms its own vineyards around the Najerilla Valley in Rioja Alta. Working from vineyard to bottle lets the family keep the fruit from its different plots distinct, from fresh varietal wines to oak-aged reservas.

Tempranillo anchors the red wines, while smaller plantings include Graciano and Tempranillo Blanco. The higher sites bring freshness to the wines; American and French oak provide the frame for the estate’s Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva bottlings.

Valdepalacios 2021 Crianza Rioja

Spanish Red
$26.99

Fruit and oak share the stage in this Tempranillo-led Rioja. Twelve months in French and American barrels, followed by bottle ageing, give it a broad palate and a firm tannic frame. Pour it with roast beef, grilled lamb or mature cheese.

Leza García 2022 Graciano Crianza Rioja

Spanish Red
$38.99

Black plum, tobacco and nutmeg show Graciano’s spicy side. Fresh acidity runs through a broad, rounded palate, and the spice carries into a persistent finish. Made entirely from Graciano and aged for at least 12 months in French and American oak, it suits roast meats, game and hard cheeses.

Leza García 2020 Reserva Rioja

Spanish Red
$42.99

Ripe fruit and spice lead into a well-structured palate with integrated tannins. Two years in American and French oak, followed by a year in bottle, bring depth while leaving a long, fruit-led finish. A good companion for roast lamb, braised beef or firm cheese.

Leza García 2017 Gran Reserva Rioja

Spanish Red
$66.99

Black fruit, tobacco and spice give this mature Rioja its savoury character. At least two years in French and American oak, followed by three years in bottle, have rounded the texture without losing its structure. The finish is full and long, well suited to slow-cooked beef or aged cheese.

Leza García 2024 Tempranillo Blanco Crianza Rioja

Spanish White
$38.99

White fruit, citrus and a light floral note meet gentle oak in this fuller white Rioja. Fermentation and ageing in French and American barrels, with time on the fine lees, give it a smooth, rounded texture. Lively acidity keeps the finish fresh and mineral.
