AboutLes Clos de Paulilles

Les Clos de Paulilles traces its history to 1800, when the Bernardi family established the estate in the sheltered bay between Collioure and Banyuls. Maison Cazes acquired the estate in 2012 and changed its vineyard practices the following year.

The vineyards occupy steep brown-schist slopes above the Mediterranean, exposed to the dry Tramontane and cooler sea winds. Dozens of small parcels are monitored and harvested separately, sometimes in several passes, so ripeness and cellar treatment can be tailored closely to place. The estate makes dry Collioure wines and sweet Banyuls.

Les Clos de Paulilles 2008 Cap Béar Banyuls

French Dessert
$43.49

Rich cherry and blackberry jam lead a full, sweet profile, with currant and dried-fruit tones adding mature depth. The palate is broad and warming, shaped by ripe Grenache fruit and a gently savoury, tawny edge. Long and composed, it finishes with lingering raisin and dark-fruit notes. A classic partner for dark chocolate, toasted nuts or blue cheese.
