AboutLeft Field Cider Co.
Sisters Theresa and Kate Garthwaite grew up in a British Columbia ranching family. Kate’s first kitchen-bucket experiment failed, but it led to formal cidermaking study and an apprenticeship with Mike Johnson at Ross-on-Wye Cider and Perry in England. Commercial cidermaking began at Mamette Lake in 2011, with Theresa, Kate and their parents Gord and Deb converting a former hayfield and barn into an orchard and ciderhouse.
Today the cidery is family-owned and operated by Theresa and Kate. Their small-batch, full-juice approach takes its cue from traditional English cider. English and French cider varieties supply tannin and structure, while British Columbia dessert apples bring freshness.

This is the producer's driest cider. Bittersweet cider apples provide rich tannins, while Okanagan dessert apples contribute the documented fruity aromatics. The exact product profile lists alcohol at 7.2 per cent. Its recorded tasting description centres on dryness, fruit aromas and tannin, bringing together the two apple groups specifically named for this cider in the producer's product details.

Canadian Cider
Bright and refreshing, this cider has a slight effervescence and is blended to highlight the natural character of the crisp, fresh apples from which it is made. The official tasting description keeps its focus on those apples, freshness and gentle bubbles. Crispness, fresh apple character and restrained sparkle are the specific elements recorded for the finished cider.
