Denis and Tricia Horgan established Leeuwin Estate in Margaret River in 1973 after receiving early encouragement and advice from Robert Mondavi. The property developed from a cattle farm into a vineyard and winery, with its first commercial vintage released in 1979. Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon became central to the Art Series, while the estate maintains other varieties and separate wine ranges.

Three generations of the Horgan family now participate in stewardship, distinguishing family continuity from day-to-day technical roles. Art Series labels commission contemporary Australian artists, extending a collaboration begun with the earliest releases. Leeuwin Estate’s present work joins Horgan family stewardship, Margaret River vineyards and its long-running collaboration with Australian artists.

Leeuwin Estate 2022 Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon

Australian Red
$129.99
Blackberry and mulberry lead a composed, fragrant bouquet, joined by cassis, cedar and a touch of cinnamon. The palate is finely structured rather than heavy, with dark fruit, savoury spice and a subtle saline edge carried by fresh acidity. Detailed and persistent, it closes with black fruit, liquorice, polished tannins and a measured oak note.
