AboutLammidia
Lammidia grew from the friendship of Marco Giuliani and Davide Gentile, who began making wine together in Abruzzo in 2010. Their cellar is at Villa Celiera, around 700 metres above sea level. The name comes from a story told by the founders: when an early fermentation stalled, Davide’s grandmother Antonia performed a local ritual against la ‘mmidia—the evil eye—and fermentation restarted.
The wines ferment spontaneously, with no additives, fining or filtration. Marco and Davide experiment with different grapes, vessels and fermentation methods.
Lammidia 2018 Sciambagn Sparkling White
Ripe fruit, apple and dried-fruit notes meet a light touch of honey and fresh yeast. Fine natural bubbles lift the palate, where bright acidity keeps the gentle fruit and low-alcohol frame refreshing. Bottle refermentation adds a lightly rustic texture, and the finish remains clean, lively and easy-flowing.
Lammidia 2018 Crick Sparkling Rosé
White cherry, lime peel and pink peppercorn open with water apple and marigold flowers. The palate is electric and brightly fruited, with luminous acidity and deep mineral drive carrying the natural bubbles. Early harvesting preserves freshness, while spontaneous fermentation builds a lively, lightly savoury texture through the crisp, energetic finish.
