AboutKono Wines

Kono Wines is a Māori-owned, family-run business representing a collective of about 250 families with ancestral ties to Nelson, Motueka and Golden Bay. Based in Te Tauihu at the top of New Zealand’s South Island, it released its first Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc in 2006.

The Sauvignon Blanc draws fruit from Marlborough’s Wairau Valley, Southern Valleys and Awatere Valley. Vineyard work includes cover crops and native planting around the vines and waterways to support biodiversity.

Kono 2023 Sauvignon Blanc

New Zealand White
$24.99

Vibrant and fruit-driven, this Marlborough white opens with citrus zest, grapefruit, passionfruit and lemongrass. The palate brings ripe lemon and lime, green apple and pineapple, framed by crisp, lively acidity. Tropical fruit and herbaceous notes are also documented, together with mineral detail and a small hint of residual sweetness. The profile is fresh, aromatic and centred on bright citrus and tropical fruit.
