AboutKen Forrester

Ken Forrester and his wife Teresa bought the neglected Scholtzenhof estate at auction in 1993 and restored the property. Their first vintage under the Ken Forrester label followed in 1994. The farm’s first vines had been planted in 1694.

On the Helderberg slopes near the Atlantic, the estate’s Chenin Blanc plantings include parcels from the 1970s. Forrester also helped found the Chenin Blanc Association in 2000. Vineyard work is hands-on, from tilling and pruning through harvest.
