Il Marroneto
Il Marroneto
Giuseppe Mori purchased Il Marroneto in 1974 on the northern side of Montalcino, and the family planted its first vines in 1975. His son Alessandro developed the estate’s wine programme and remains the producer most closely associated with its present direction. The vineyards are devoted to Sangiovese for Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino, with individual parcels informing separate bottlings.
The cellar follows a traditional Montalcino framework centred on long maturation in large oak, while exact time remains specific to each wine. Official estate and cellar pages distinguish the purchase date, first planting and current leadership rather than presenting an invented ancient lineage. Il Marroneto remains a small Montalcino estate centred on Sangiovese and the Madonna delle Grazie site.
