AboutI Fabbri
I Fabbri is Susanna Grassi’s family estate in Lamole, high above Greve in Chianti, on land the Grassi family has held since 1620. Even the name points back to the family’s old blacksmith’s workshop, while the label recalls Olinto Grassi, who began selling bottled wine in 1920. After studying economics and working in fashion, Susanna returned to the property and founded the present I Fabbri estate in 2000.
The vineyards rise from roughly 450 to 680 metres. The estate farms organically, with Sangiovese at the centre of its wines.
I Fabbri NV Duedonne Rosso
Bright ruby and intensely aromatic, opening with tart red cherry, violets and a distinctive lift of black pepper. The palate is fresh and medium-bodied, with lively acidity, gentle tannins and a savoury, spicy edge that keeps the fruit focused. An equal blend of Sangiovese from Lamole and Schioppettino from Prepotto, bringing Tuscan brightness together with Friulian perfume and peppery character. A versatile red for charcuterie, roast poultry or mushroom dishes.
