AboutStiftungsweingut Vereinigte Hospitien

Vereinigte Hospitien in Trier belongs to a charitable foundation established under Napoleon in 1804. Wine sales help fund its care for older and ill people. The winery still uses a cellar dating to Roman Trier.

Riesling occupies about 90 percent of its roughly 24 to 25 hectares of vineyards along the Mosel and Saar. The estate has four vineyards under sole ownership, and its records mention Riesling cultivation as early as 1464.

Hospitien 2019 Riesling Trocken

German White
$39.99

Lime, green apple and lemon lead a zesty dry Riesling profile, with a light petrol note and slate-like minerality adding classic Mosel character. Moderate acidity keeps the palate precise and composed, carrying subtle stone fruit into a straightforward, clean finish. Serve with shellfish, schnitzel or lightly spiced vegetable dishes.

Hospitien 2019 Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese

German White
$64.99

Ripe apricot and yellow peach lead a lush, fruit-driven palate, with honey, citrus and caramel-crusted almonds adding richness. The sweetness is generous, but vivid acidity and a mineral-spice line keep the wine energetic rather than heavy. The finish is long and gently savoury. Serve lightly chilled with spicy food, roast pork, washed-rind cheese or almond tart.
