AboutHarlan Estate

Founded in 1984, Harlan Estate occupies the western hills above Oakville, where the property rises from the benchlands into the forested Mayacamas terrain. Only forty of its 240 acres are under vine, leaving most of the site as woodland, riparian ground and other natural habitat.

Cabernet Sauvignon leads the plantings, followed by Merlot, on closely spaced, terraced hillside blocks over volcanic and sedimentary bedrock. The vineyard is divided into blocks with different slopes, exposures, soils, clones and rootstocks, and its layout follows the contours of the land.

Harlan Estate 2014 Proprietary Red Oakville Napa Valley

American Red
$2,499.90

Blackcurrant, black cherry and crushed blackberry open with violet, graphite and rose petal. The full-bodied Cabernet blend is dense yet finely balanced, layering plum, mocha and liquorice over ultra-fine tannins. Forest floor, charcoal, dried herbs and warm spice add savoury depth, while mineral tension carries the rich fruit into a long, focused finish.
