Nicholas Hammeken founded Hammeken Cellars in Spain in 1996 after building experience across several international wine markets. The company released its first proprietary brand in 2001 and developed a portfolio based on Spanish grapes and growing regions. Its team is headquartered in Dénia, Alicante, while wine projects draw from multiple Spanish appellations rather than one contiguous estate.
Hammeken works with regional growers and winemakers, so vineyard ownership and production methods must be described wine by wine. The official English and Spanish company histories agree on the founder, dates, headquarters and national focus. From Spain, Hammeken Cellars develops wines across several regions, including Ribera del Duero.

Spanish Red
This wine has deep cherry colour with violet hues, ripe berries, plum and hints of chocolate. The full-bodied palate brings fresh fruit, soft toasted notes, balanced acidity and velvety tannins, followed by a long, smooth finish. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Castilla-La Mancha, it is sustainably farmed, dry and oak-influenced. Alcohol is 14 percent and residual sugar is 2.6 grams per litre.

Spanish Red
Cranberry, red cherry and blackberry lead a concentrated aroma, joined by tobacco, cocoa and eucalyptus. The palate is full and structured, with firm, ripe tannins giving shape to the dark fruit. Slate and cracked pepper add a savoury mineral edge, while liquorice brings depth through the middle. The finish is long and warming, carrying fruit, spice and cocoa in a composed, persistent line.
