Ripe plum and cracked black pepper lead the nose, with dark fruit and gentle oak developing behind them. The palate is full and supple, pairing the malt's cereal depth with the richer fruit and spice drawn from a freshly retired Syrah barrel. Five years of maturation provides structure before the wine-cask finish adds a deep amber tone and polished texture. The finish is long and silky, carrying vanilla, pepper and restrained smoke. Serve neat or add a few drops of water.
