AboutGarden of Granite
Garden of Granite emerged in North Vancouver in 2020, when Anthony Walsh and Andrew Doyle turned a concrete garage above a brewery into an urban winery. The original plan centred on kegged wine, but pandemic conditions pushed the young project toward bottles and a small tasting-room model almost immediately.
The North Vancouver cellar made its early wines with fruit from the Shuswap, East Kelowna, Black Sage Bench and Golden Mile Bench. Experiments included aromatic whites, reds and wine-cider blends.
What Happens Now? 2019 Kerner
Highly aromatic, with white flowers, crisp green apple and ripe pear leading a bright, bone-dry palate. Electric acidity gives the fruit a lively, mouth-watering edge and carries the finish with clarity. Fresh and versatile at the table, it suits shellfish, green salads, mild curries, fresh goat cheese or simply a well-chilled glass on its own.
