AboutFruktstereo
Karl Sjöström and Mikael Nypelius brought years of restaurant and wine-service experience to Fruktstereo, their Swedish cider and fruit-wine project. They began in 2016 with three thousand bottles made at Hällåkra, using mostly foraged fruit.
Production is now in central Malmö, and the 13.5-hectare orchard at Haväng in Österlen grows apples, pears, plums, grapes, quince and berries. Set within the Verkeån nature reserve, the orchard is close to the Baltic Sea. Fermentation begins with the fruit’s native yeasts, and different wines and ciders may be bottle-conditioned, given skin contact or aged in amphorae.
Fruktstereo F.W.A. Straight Outta Österrike Cider
Cloudy gold with lively bubbles, this dry fruit pét-nat opens on fresh apple, citrus and stone fruit, with a light floral note and subtle oxidative complexity. The palate is crisp and bright, its juicy orchard fruit shaped by refreshing acidity, delicate tannin and a persistent dry finish. Serve well chilled with charcuterie, soft cheese, grilled fish or spicy vegetable dishes.
Fruktstereo Ciderday Night Fever Traditional Cider
Rich and oxidative in style, with ripe orchard apple, dried fruit and a gently rustic savoury edge. Bright Nordic acidity keeps the palate energetic, while wild apples bring firmer tannin, extra structure and a long, dry finish. Serve well chilled with roast pork, aged cheddar, charcuterie or mushroom dishes; its combination of freshness and grip makes it particularly comfortable at the table.
Fruktstereo 2020 Definitely Cider
Aroma apple brings bright orchard fruit, while Conference pear adds a softer, rounded layer. Indigenous-yeast fermentation and natural bottle conditioning give the palate light sparkle and a gently wild edge, with no additives or filtration to mute the fruit. The finish is dry, fresh and direct. Serve chilled with hard cheese, roast chicken, smoked fish or vegetable tart.
