AboutFrias Family Vineyard

Frias Family Vineyard began with a family property on Spring Mountain in the late 1970s, first imagined as a place to escape the city and spend time outdoors. Five acres were planted in 1985, and the hillside estate has since grown to thirteen acres of Cabernet Sauvignon. Second-generation brothers Fernando and Manny Frias Junior now lead the small family winery, with Todd Heth responsible for the wines since 2004.

Alongside its estate-grown Spring Mountain Cabernet, Frias makes wines with fruit sourced through long relationships in Oakville and Yountville. Its flagship Cabernet, SMD, takes its name from Spring Mountain District.

Frias Family Vineyard 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville

American Red
$193.99
Blueberry, blackberry and cassis lead, joined by crushed violet, licorice and a graphite-like mineral note. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, with supple tannins carrying the dark fruit through a long, composed finish. Savoury herbs and measured oak add depth without crowding the fruit. Decant before serving with roast beef or lamb.
