AboutFrank Cornelissen

Frank Cornelissen founded his estate in 2001 on the northern side of Etna. The roughly 24-hectare farm combines old bush vines with olive trees, fruit trees and vegetables. Some vines are ungrafted, and the highest parcels approach 1,000 metres.

Cornelissen limits soil cultivation and avoids treatments when conditions allow. His wines include reds from Nerello Mascalese and whites from Grecanico Dorato and Carricante.

Frank Cornelissen 2017 Munjebel Rosso

Italian Red
$74.99
Smoke, graphite and truffle meet wild black berries and molten chocolate on a deep, compelling nose. The palate is full and enveloping, layering blackberry, crushed black raspberry, liquorice and grilled herbs over velvety tannins. Tangy acidity and a lingering mineral note keep the richness precise. Decant and serve with venison, grilled beef, lamb shoulder or earthy mushroom dishes.
