Figli Luigi Oddero
AboutFigli Luigi Oddero
Figli Luigi Oddero emerged as a distinct La Morra estate when brothers Luigi and Giacomo divided their family holdings in 2006. Luigi moved into the former cellar of local winegrower Luigi Parà at Santa Maria di La Morra. After Luigi’s death in 2010, his wife Lena and their children Maria and Giovanni continued the family business.
About 32 hectares of vineyards extend through Barolo and Barbaresco country, with 18 hectares devoted to Nebbiolo. Concrete fermentation vessels and large oak casks are central to the estate’s traditional cellar work. The range includes a classic Barolo blended from La Morra, Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba, as well as single-vineyard bottlings.

Italian Red
Camphor, rose and wild herbs open over raspberry, ripe Morello cherry and a gentle earthy note. The palate is round and juicy, with polished tannins supporting the fruit and savoury layers of new leather, star anise, cinnamon and brown spice. The finish is balanced, persistent and already expressive, while retaining the structure expected of mature Nebbiolo. Decant carefully and serve with braised beef, porcini, truffle dishes or aged Piedmontese cheese.
