Far Yeast Brewing Company
AboutFar Yeast Brewing Company
Far Yeast Brewing was founded in Japan in 2011 as Japan Craft Beer Company and took its present name in 2015. Its early beers drew on two ideas: KAGUA, launched in 2012 for the Japanese dining table, and the Tokyo-inspired Far Yeast range, introduced in 2014.
In 2017 the company opened Genryu Brewery in Kosuge, Yamanashi, near the headwaters of the Tama River. Local fruit, hops and other agricultural ingredients feature in its Yamanashi releases. Belgian brewing traditions also inform its work, including bottle conditioning and a focus on expressive yeasts.
Far Yeast Tokyo IPA
Japanese Beer
Belgian yeast and American hops create an aromatic IPA with a lively balance of fruit, spice and citrus. Malt and gentle roasted notes give the palate a composed centre, while citrus-led hops add clear bitterness and freshness through the finish. The result is expressive yet highly drinkable. Serve cold with yakitori, fried chicken, grilled pork, spicy noodles, sharp cheddar or a richly topped pizza.
Far Yeast Mori to Mori Rice Ale
Japanese Beer
Fruity ginjo aromatics and delicate hops meet a crisp, dry rice-ale palate. Brewed with Japanese rice, barley and sake yeast, the beer brings together the freshness of beer with the fragrant lift associated with sake fermentation. Subtle fruit carries through the clean finish without becoming sweet or heavy. Serve cold with yakitori, tonkatsu, grilled fish, savoury snacks, tempura or lightly spiced dishes.
