AboutEve & Michel Rey
Since 1988, Eve and Michel Rey have worked from Vergisson, at the southern end of Burgundy. Their compact 3.5 hectares sit between the landmark rocks of Vergisson and Solutré, across marl-limestone and clay soils whose aspect changes from parcel to parcel.
They make Chardonnay from Mâcon-Vergisson, Saint-Véran and individual vineyards in Pouilly-Fuissé. Grapes are picked by hand and brought to the cellar in small crates for prompt pressing. The parcel wines are fermented and aged in barrel for roughly eleven months.

French White
Grapefruit and lemon zest lead with bright precision, followed by fresh nuts and a delicate thread of smoke. The palate is composed and quietly generous, with clear Chardonnay fruit, a fine mineral line and enough texture to soften the citrus drive. Clean and persistent through the finish, it pairs naturally with roast poultry, firm fish or creamy vegetables.
