AboutEscala Humana Wines
Escala Humana began in 2015 as the Uco Valley project of viticulturists Ayelén Bonetto and Germán Masera. Masera had worked in cellars in Mendoza, the United States, Spain and Patagonia, while Bonetto grew up around her family’s wine business.
Based in Gualtallary, they seek out old vineyards in places such as El Zampal and El Peral, working with overlooked varieties including Malvasía and Bequignol. Their farming follows sustainable practices, with native-yeast fermentation and minimal intervention in the cellar.

Argentinian White
Malvasía de Sitges comes from El Zampal in Tupungato at about 1,100 metres. The low-trained vineyard was planted in nineteen twenty-three on clay-loam soils. After destemming, the wine remains on skins for ninety to 120 days. Ageing is split evenly between used French barrels and concrete eggs. The profile is aromatic, floral, lightly spicy, broad and long, with a subtly saline finish.
