AboutEdmeades

Edmeades traces its Mendocino story to 1963, when Donald Edmeades planted grapes near the small Anderson Valley community of Philo. His son Deron started the winery in 1972, with mountain-grown Zinfandel becoming its focus. Jess Jackson purchased Edmeades in 1988, and Dave Ready has been chief winemaker since 2017.

The winery draws on Mendocino’s coastal mountain vineyards, including steep slopes, old vines and sites above the fog line. Cellar work emphasizes minimal intervention.

Edmeades 2021 Mendocino Zinfandel

American Red
$34.99
Pepper, blackberry jam and a savoury bramble-berry note lead a rich, dense red profile. The palate is smooth and round, with sweet fruit and a dry, balanced finish. This Zinfandel comes from Mendocino County, California, and pairs well with grilled meat or chicken. It is presented as a solid introduction to the variety that can be shared widely.
