AboutDomaine Nicolas-Jay

Nicolas-Jay began with a friendship between Burgundian winemaker Jean-Nicolas Méo and music entrepreneur Jay Boberg, who first met in Philadelphia in 1988. Their shared interest in Oregon Pinot Noir led them to agree in 2012 to build a Willamette Valley winery together. Bishop Creek was their first vineyard purchase, followed by a fifty-three-acre property in the Dundee Hills.

Méo brings his Burgundy winemaking experience, while Boberg works on estate management and grower relationships; production winemaker Noah Roberts works alongside them in Oregon. The team makes Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from its own vineyards and long-term grower partners across the Willamette Valley.

Nicolas-Jay 2016 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

American Red
$129.99

Black cherry and plum lead, accented by violet, dried herbs and bay laurel. The palate is dense and focused, with brilliant red and black fruit framed by impressive tannins and racy acidity. Olive, savoury herbs and a saline edge bring definition through the middle. The finish is long and energetic, retaining bright fruit, mineral tension and a composed, structured feel.

Domaine Nicolas-Jay 2018 L’Ensemble Pinot Noir

American Red
$155.99

Black cherry, dark berries and spiced plum meet cedar, rose hip and a savoury forest-floor note. The palate is juicy and energetic, bringing pomegranate and dark red fruit across a silky, dense texture. Bright acidity keeps the wine lifted, while fine, chalky tannins add tension without roughness. Subtle baking spice and an earthy edge carry through a long, balanced finish with measured depth.
