AboutDomaine Michelot
The Michelot family began as barrel makers before turning to winegrowing in Meursault during the nineteenth century. Bernard and Lucie Michelot shifted from bulk sales to estate bottling in the 1960s, opening export markets under the Michelot-Buisson name. Jean-François Mestre joined the family in 1985, and today his son Nicolas, the seventh generation, works beside him in both vineyard and cellar.
The current domaine covers seventeen hectares, centred on Meursault with additional parcels in Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay, and works primarily with Chardonnay. The domaine has used organic products in its vineyards since 2012; its wines have been certified organic since the 2023 vintage.
Domaine Michelot 2017 Meursault Les Narvaux Chardonnay 1.5 L
French Wine
Ripe orchard fruit and citrus open with a quiet floral note and a restrained savoury edge. The palate is broad yet controlled, combining supple texture with clean acidity and a clear mineral line. Gentle oak and lees detail add depth without becoming heavy. The finish is persistent and composed, returning to pear, citrus and subtle toasted nuance with the balance and precision of a finely handled Meursault.
Domaine Michelot 2017 Bourgogne Côte d’Or Clos de Montmeix Monopole Magnum
French White
Ripe orchard fruit opens with gentle spice and a light floral lift. The palate is broad and concentrated, reflecting the warm, sheltered site, yet fresh acidity and a rocky mineral line keep the Chardonnay focused. Subtle oak adds texture without overwhelming the fruit, while a faint nutty note develops with air. The finish is long, rich and composed. Serve cool with roasted fish, poultry, foie gras or creamy mushroom dishes.
