The Lapierre family’s story at Villié-Morgon begins in 1909, when Michel and Annette Lapierre settled at Domaine Les Chênes, the site of the present winery. Marcel took over the seven-hectare family farm in 1973. From 1981, his work with the chemist and winemaker Jules Chauvet led him towards organic cultivation and fermentation without cultured yeast or routine sulphur additions.
Mathieu returned in 2004 and Camille in 2013; the siblings now co-own and run the estate following Marcel’s death in 2010. Their eighteen hectares of organically farmed Gamay lie mainly in Morgon, and the wines are aged in used barrels.

Dried cherry, licorice and savoury spice emerge with a pronounced flinty note. Cool and sleek on the palate, the wine carries impressive concentration without losing its light-footed Beaujolais character. Fine acidity keeps the fruit precise while stony mineral detail tightens the frame. The finish is long, structured and harmonious, lingering on dried red fruit, spice and crushed stone.
