AboutDomaine Jacques Girardin
The Girardin family’s Burgundy winegrowing roots reach back to 1570. Valérie and Jacques represent the twelfth generation, while their son Justin is the thirteenth. Justin worked alongside his parents before taking the lead, with 2015 marking his first solo vintage.
The seventeen-hectare estate extends from Santenay through Chassagne-Montrachet and Pommard to Savigny-lès-Beaune, producing both red and white Burgundy. The soils are worked to encourage biological activity, and treatments are used only when conditions require them.
Domaine Jacques Girardin 2013 Santenay Les Terrasses de Biévaux
French White
Pale gold colour accompanies yellow flowers and vanilla. The palate is ample, round and rich, with freshness and balance. Chardonnay from the elevated Biévaux slope is made as a still white Santenay and aged in barrel. Production totalled 13,200 bottles. The vineyard is arranged on terraces. Its vines average thirty years of age, and ageing lasts twelve months in French oak.
