Domaine François Gaunoux is a family estate based in Meursault with roughly ten hectares of owned vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. The Gaunoux family records roots in the Côte d’Or from the sixteenth century, while François began vineyard work at a young age. His daughter Claudine joined the domaine in 2000 and now directs the estate, clearly separating current leadership from the founder’s generation.

The holdings include red-wine parcels in Pommard, Volnay and Beaune together with Chardonnay sites in Meursault. Harvesting is manual, and vinification and élevage change with colour, parcel and vintage. Gaunoux’s range remains closely tied to family-owned parcels across Meursault, Pommard, Volnay and Beaune.

Francois Gaunoux 2018 Pommard 1Er Cru

French Red
$189.99

Dark cherry and plum give this Pommard a firm fruit core, layered with violet, earth and subtle savoury spice. The palate is concentrated but controlled, with lively acidity and structured tannins balancing the ripeness of the 2018 vintage. Mineral and woodland notes build through a long, dry finish. Decanting will help the texture open.
