AboutDomaine du Moulin de la Gardette

The Meunier-Jurdic family has grown vines at la Gardette for five generations, first bottling under the site name in 1946 and adopting Moulin de la Gardette in 1958. Jean-Baptiste Meunier took over from his parents around the end of the 1980s. Ten hectares are divided among parcels running from the plateau near Gigondas to the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail, with vines averaging about fifty years of age.

The vineyards have been certified organic since 2012, and the grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentations proceed without added yeast, with cement tanks, used Burgundy barrels and large wooden vats chosen according to the wine.

Blackberry and dark plum lead with peppery herbs, lavender and a touch of leather. The palate is medium-bodied and poised, combining ripe fruit with polished tannins and fresh acidity. Savoury spice and dried herbs gather through the centre, giving the generous fruit a firm, clean and persistent finish.
