AboutDomaine de Villalin

Domaine de Villalin was founded in 2006 on the right bank of the Cher in Quincy. Maximilien de La Chaise took over in 2019. The estate has eight hectares in Quincy, where it grows Sauvignon Blanc, alongside small parcels of Pinot Noir and the rare local Genouillet grape.

Villalin maintains mother vines of Genouillet to help keep this nearly lost Berry variety in cultivation. The grapes are picked by hand.

Lemon and grapefruit lead a bright, aromatic profile, joined by acacia, white flowers and a gentle peppery lift. The palate is smooth and lightly textured, with fresh citrus carrying through a clean, energetic finish. Its balance of fruit and freshness makes it easy at the table. Serve well chilled with oysters, goat cheese, grilled fish or simply prepared green vegetables.

Domaine Villalin 2018 Intemporel Genouillet

French Red
$46.99

Garnet in colour, with a lightly toasted opening that gives way to wild strawberry and warm, smoky nuance. The palate is fairly dense yet well balanced by fresh acidity, keeping the wine lifted and composed. Spice gathers through the finish alongside notes of hay and white pepper, adding savoury length and character.
