Domaine de Marcoux belongs to the Armenier family, whose name appears in Châteauneuf records as early as 1344. The estate took shape over generations of inheritance and marriage. Sisters Catherine and Sophie Armenier took over in 1995; Sophie now runs the domaine with her son Vincent Estevenin.
The vines have been farmed organically since 1991, with biodynamic preparations used in the vineyard. Alongside its red and white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the domaine makes wines from Côtes du Rhône and Lirac.

Red grapes from two plots on the right bank of the Rhône grow in alluvial and silty soils. Grenache, Syrah and Caladoc are harvested by hand, sorted, destemmed and crushed. Fermentation begins with native yeasts, with daily pump-overs, and maturation takes place in concrete. The vineyard is certified organic by ECOCERT, and the wine is bottled without fining, filtration or added sulphur.
