Domaine Buronfosse

Peggy and Jean-Pascal Buronfosse traded city life for La Combe de Rotalier in 1999, initially imagining a mixed farm rather than a wine estate. With guidance from their neighbour Jean-François Ganevat, they gradually built a small domaine from vineyard parcels in the Jura. They grow Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir, along with rarer local varieties.

The vineyards are farmed organically and harvested by hand, with the couple doing much of the work themselves. In the cellar, they use spontaneous fermentation and old, neutral wood, favouring topped-up whites over deliberately oxidative styles.
