Domaine Alex Moreau is based in Chassagne-Montrachet and continues a family winegrowing history whose first cellar was built in 1809. Alex Moreau worked for years at Domaine Bernard Moreau before beginning the next chapter under his own name with the 2021 vintage. The domaine farms vineyards in Chassagne-Montrachet and neighbouring Côte de Beaune appellations, including village, premier-cru and grand-cru parcels.

Chardonnay is central to the range, while Pinot Noir remains important in sites historically associated with red Chassagne. The change of label represents a generational transition, not the disappearance of the family’s accumulated vineyards and practical knowledge. Domaine Alex Moreau now carries the family’s Chassagne-Montrachet vineyards into the label first used for the 2021 vintage.

Domaine Alex Moreau 2022 Pommard Premier Cru Les Fremiers

French Red
$275.99

Red berries and soft earth lead a highly floral, finely detailed bouquet. A touch of crushed anise adds lift, while subtle spice brings quiet savoury depth. The palate is generous and caressing, with excellent volume carried by fresh acidity and a clear mineral line. Firm and compact through the finish, it closes with red fruit, flowers and measured earthy tension.
