AboutDi Lenardo
Di Lenardo’s roots in Ontagnano reach back to 1878, when Giuseppe di Lenardo bought and restored a villa dating from 1737. Massimo di Lenardo assumed full responsibility for the estate’s winemaking decisions with the 1998 harvest.
The estate has 55 hectares of vineyards around Ontagnano. Winemaking generally favours stainless steel, with oak used for selected wines. Solar panels have supplied all the electricity used by the cellar and warehouse since 2009.
Di Lenardo 2023 Father’s Eyes Chardonnay
Smoky Chardonnay combines vanilla and hazelnut with creamy apple pastry, lemon meringue and graham-cracker flavours. The rich style remains bright and fresh through juicy acidity. Production includes partial fermentation, three months in new American oak barrels, maturation on fine lees and complete malolactic fermentation. The wine comes from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and the bottling uses composite DIAM corks.
