AboutDeanston
Deanston occupies a stone cotton mill built beside the River Teith in 1785. After roughly 180 years of textile production, the building was converted into a distillery in the 1960s. The Teith supplies water for whisky making and hydroelectric power for the distillery.
Even before cask ageing, Deanston’s unpeated spirit has a distinctive waxy texture. Its core bottlings are made without added colour or chill filtration.
Deanston 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Floral, malty and grassy aromas open with vanilla, honey and quiet touches of tobacco and nutmeg. The palate is sweet and spicy, bringing citrus, barley sugar and gingerbread into a rounded honeyed core. White pepper adds lift and definition without overwhelming the malt. The finish turns drier and warmer, leaving ginger, honey, spice and a clean cereal note.
