Château de Ferrand
AboutChâteau de Ferrand
Château de Ferrand was founded in 1702 by Élie de Bétoulaud on the high limestone plateau east of Saint-Émilion, and the estate changed hands only once over the next three centuries. Baron Marcel Bich acquired it in 1977; ownership remains with his family, with Pauline Bich Chandon-Moët and Philippe Chandon-Moët directing the estate.
Vineyard and cellar renovations began in 2010. Ferrand became a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé in 2012. Smaller, parcel-specific vats allow each section to be handled separately. The estate also includes nearly ten hectares of woodland, meadows and historic park.

French Red
Fresh, radiant fruit leads the aroma, with plum, black cherry and violet joined by touches of cocoa and hazelnut. The palate is smooth and velvety, while Cabernet Franc brings a firmer line of tannin and welcome freshness. The fruit remains clear and energetic through the middle. The finish is refined and balanced, carrying floral lift, polished texture and lingering dark-fruit intensity.
