AboutChâteau Dalem

Château Dalem stands on Fronsac’s clay-and-limestone slopes, where the vineyard’s recorded history reaches back to 1610. Michel Rullier acquired the property in 1955; his daughter Brigitte Rullier-Loussert took charge in 2002, and her son Charles Pouvreau joined in 2018.

Its 20 hectares are divided into 15 plots, each treated as its own small vineyard. Harvest is manual and keyed to the ripeness of individual varieties and parcels, with every lot receiving a dedicated vat before blending. Fermentation takes place in concrete and stainless steel, followed by ageing in French oak.

Château Dalem 2018 Fronsac

French Red
$79.99
Deep garnet-purple, with baked blueberry, kirsch, redcurrant jelly and earthy truffle aromas. The palate is full-bodied and generous, layering black fruit with brighter red-fruit accents and a firm, velvety structure. A refreshing lift keeps the finish poised. Pair with roast lamb, braised beef, duck or aged hard cheese.
