Dominic Limbrey founded the company behind D1 London Spirits, bringing a background in design and international production. He brought together distilling partners and London-based artist Jacky Tsai, whose work combines Eastern craft traditions with Western pop imagery. D1 London Gin arrived in 2014 in a clear, reversible bottle carrying Tsai’s Floral Skull artwork.
The gin is batch-distilled in copper pots, with juniper and citrus joined by blackcurrant and nettle notes. Tsai’s Stained Glass Skull artwork appears on the company’s potato vodka.

Nettle, apricot and fresh blackcurrant shape an aromatic opening, set against a confident juniper core. Orange blossom, lemon oil and coriander leaf bring lift through the palate, while angelica, cassia, almond and liquorice add gentle depth and warmth. Triple-distilled grain spirit and a narrow distillation cut keep the texture smooth and composed rather than heavy. The finish is clean and lingering, with juniper sweetness, summer fruit and a final echo of citrus. Serve with tonic and an orange twist or use in a dry Martini.
