AboutCVA Canicattì

CVA Canicattì was founded in 1969 as a growers’ cooperative in Sicily. About 300 members farm roughly 900 hectares across Agrigento, Caltanissetta and Palermo, with family vineyards averaging about three hectares. The cooperative’s team works with growers throughout the season and helps decide when each crop is ready to harvest. Nero d’Avola, Grillo and Catarratto grow across a patchwork of soils and climates that can vary within a few kilometres.

La Ferla 2010 Nero d’Avola Sicilia IGT

Italian Red
$18.99
Deep ruby colour with violet hues accompanies red plum, morello cherry, Mediterranean herbs and black pepper. The palate is soft, full-fruited and balanced, with lively tannins. Made entirely from Nero d’Avola, the wine comes from vineyards in Agrigento, Palermo and Caltanissetta. The vineyards lie between two hundred and six hundred metres on sandy-silty, calcareous soils, and suggested pairings include braised or grilled meat, chicken curry and mature cheeses.
