AboutConcannon
James Concannon founded the Livermore Valley winery in 1883. Cuttings selected from the estate in the 1960s became Cabernet Sauvignon clones 7, 8 and 11, planting material that went on to play a wide role in California vineyards. Its 1961 Petite Sirah, released in 1964, helped establish the winery’s long association with the grape.
Today Tom and Paige Lemmons own the estate through Lemmons Family Vineyards. It spans more than 235 acres on the gravelly soils of Livermore Valley.
