AboutComte Louis de Lauriston
Comte Louis de Lauriston’s story began in 1962, when a police operation uncovered illicit distilling around Domfront in Normandy. The Comte helped establish the Chais du Verger Normand, a legal cellar where local farmers could bring their spirits. A commercial partnership with Christian Drouin followed in 1992, while the house continued its work in Domfront.
Its Calvados Domfrontais comes from pears and apples grown on southern Normandy’s schist and granite soils, and is distilled once. The cellars also hold a collection of old vintage Calvados.

Fresh apple and orchard fruit lead a vivid, aromatic profile. The palate is rounded and warming, with the character of macerated fruit carried clearly through the spirit rather than hidden by oak or sweetness. A gentle savoury note brings balance through the middle. The finish is clean and persistent, leaving baked apple, fruit skin and a measured warmth.
